More than a name – the concept in detail
CASCADA is not only the name of the hotel, it is also a concept! The word CASCADA (or “Cascade” in English) refers to a gentle waterfall. The three basalt columns in the hotel lobby, over which the water gently falls, have translated this theme into action. Furthermore, each of the 63 individually designed rooms has been decorated with a unique wall painting, by the artist Heinz Blum, showing a Swiss waterfall. Each room is named after the waterfall in the wall painting, e.g. “Rhine Falls”, “Giessbach Falls” and other more or lesser-known waterfalls. Additionally, every room features a Swiss map with the location of the waterfall and a description of how to get there.
The name CASCADA is used in all major languages. In English and French it is written the same (cascade), in Italian (Cascata) and Spanish (Cascada), with only minor variations. This internationality was one reason more to choose CASCADA as a hotel name, as well as its positive association and ongoing topicality.

The flowing waterfall symbolizes our philosophy, as they are always moving like the water and adapting to the changing conditions in our society.
